The Project
When Steven Spielberg chose Dartmoor to film part of his new big screen adaptation of Warhorse, the production team were tasked with finding a remote and atmospheric location to film the scenes for Albert’s Narracott Farm.
Originally a warren for farming rabbits, the Grade II Listed 18th Century Ditsworthy Warren House was identified by the location team. Currently unoccupied, and until recently used by the military for training, the internal structure had been modified and repaired over the years.
James Lockyer Associates worked with the Location and Construction Managers for the UK based production company Afterworks Ltd to ensure that the building was structurally adequate to enable filming to take place. To a tight time scale and considering the artistic design requirements, we successfully integrated the structural improvements to enable filming to take place.
