The Project

The National Trust car park at Respryn Bridge on the Lanhydrock estate is regularly used as a base for walks along the River Fowey and around the Lanhydrock estate. The car park was surfaced with hardcore and heavily potholed. An extension to double its size and improve the drainage was required, as it is located on a functional flood plain.

JLA were commissioned by the National Trust to carry out construction design including drainage into the nearby River Fowey, and tender for construction works.

The extended car park is constructed with asphalt circulation tracks and unbound granular surfaced parking bays contained within conservation kerbs and timber edging/sleepers. The entrance over an existing culvert was strengthened with a reinforced concrete slab and the road level was raised.
