The Project
The old stone bridge over the river Mole which allows access to Park House was flood damaged and in need of replacement. A temporary steel bridge was erected near the existing bridge to allow demolition of the old bridge.
Planning permission was approved for the replacement bridge to be a segmental precast concrete structure, which is quick and easy to construct whilst avoiding the need to obstruct the watercourse.
The new bridge was built from scratch including new abutments and was finished with local stone facing in keeping with the old bridge. The temporary bridge was removed and the surrounding landscape reinstated.
