ENGINEERS AND BUILDING DESIGN CONSULTANTS OFFERING A RANGE OF PROFESSIONAL SERVICES IN THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT

  WORKING WITH ARCHITECTS & SURVEYORS

As an architect, surveyor or other professional working in the built environment, you need professional partners who echo your commitment to providing the highest standards of service to your clients and can add support and value by putting a wider range of disciplines at your disposal.

James Lockyer Associates can provide a wide range of engineering consultancy and engineering services to complement your in-house expertise. Working together we can provide solutions that fulfil and exceed client expectations.

Whether for new build, conversion or refurbishment projects, you will find our team armed with the experience and skills needed to ensure a successful outcome – on quality, to timescales and within budget.

We provide services ranging from the specification and design of structural elements to more comprehensive detailed design compliant with current Building Regulations. Where required this can include preparation of contract documents, and the administration and monitoring of contracts and works. Practices based outside the south west benefit from a capable resource with local knowledge that they can rely on, particularly during the construction phase, when site attendance and advice may be required at short notice.

Stonehanger Court, Salcombe, Devon

We were approached by Architect Richard Pain to assist with the design of this “room with a view” project, which to optimise sea views and vista required a new building to project from a precipitous site, all constrained by restricted and difficult access.

We completed the geotechnical and structural design, which included a rock anchored basement substructure, and arranged and project-managed the construction to completion.

When Homer Sandy, a property in the village of Trevone, near Padstow, was damaged by fire, we worked in conjunction with Thorne & Thorne Architects of London, to undertake the reinstatement works, and developed the detailed design from the architect’s sketch proposals to obtain Planning and Building Regulations approvals.

A grand new roof was designed, and the company prepared contract documents, oversaw the works and created a stunning home for the client.

Working in conjunction with Goldhart Estates, Architects Design Group and Drayton Studio Design, we undertook the structural design works and provided support and advice during the construction phase for the extensive commercial development of this site in Newton Abbot.

Works included both renovation of existing properties, extension and new build.
